How to get yourmoney back
Written plainly, because somebody reading this page usually wants a straight answer rather than a paragraph that turns out to say no.
Version 2 · 16 August 2026
The short version
- Changed your mind before we built anything? Full refund, no questions.
- Within fourteen days, site already built? Refund less the cost of your domain name (the name stays yours).
- Something is wrong with what we sold you? We fix it, or you get your money back. That right has no time limit attached to this page.
- We could not deliver? Full refund, including the domain.
Your fourteen-day right
Because you buy this online without meeting us, the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 give you fourteen days, from the day after you buy, to change your mind for any reason at all and get your money back.
What starting at once would normally cost you
This product starts immediately. Your site is built, your domain is registered and your welcome email is on its way within minutes of the payment going through, because that speed is much of what you are buying.
Where a service is started at your request inside those fourteen days, the law lets the seller keep a fair amount for what has already been used, and where something is finished altogether before the fourteen days are up, the right to change your mind can fall away entirely.
What we do instead
We charge you nothing for the fortnight you have had, and we do not ask you to sign that right away at the checkout. So:
If you write within fourteen days of buying, we will refund you in full, less the cost of your domain name if one was registered. We keep that part back for one reason only: a registered domain is paid for in advance and non-refundable to us, and the name stays yours: we will transfer it to you or any registrar you name. It is typically £25 to £50, depending on how many years we registered to cover your date. If your site went live on one of our own addresses rather than a domain of your own, there is nothing to deduct and the refund is the whole £595.
After fourteen days, we do not give refunds for a change of mind. By then the work is done and the site has been running for a fortnight. Your rights below are untouched by this.
If something is wrong with it
Separately from changing your mind, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 says what we sold you has to be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If it is not, you are entitled to have it repaired or replaced, and if that cannot be done in a reasonable time, to some or all of your money back.
In practice: tell us what is wrong. Nearly everything is fixable, most of it the same day. If we cannot fix it, we will not argue about the refund.
If we cannot deliver
If we take your money and cannot give you a working site, you get all of it back, domain included, without having to ask twice.
How to ask
Email hello@vowto.co from the address you bought with, and say you want to cancel. You do not need a reason and there is no form. If it is easier, this is enough:
I am cancelling my purchase of a wedding website, bought on [date], at [your site address].
We will confirm the same day we see it, and pay the refund within fourteen days of agreeing it, and usually much sooner.
How the money comes back
Stripe is the merchant of record for the sale, so the refund is made through Stripe to the card you paid with. It generally shows up in five to ten working days, which is your bank's timetable rather than ours. Any tax you were charged comes back with it.
If you are thinking about a chargeback through your bank: please write to us first. A chargeback takes weeks and we can usually settle it the same afternoon.
What happens to your site
When a refund is agreed, the site comes down and the guest list, the RSVPs and the photographs are deleted. That is not recoverable, so save anything you want to keep before you ask. The domain, if one was registered, stays yours.
Complaints
If we have handled something badly, say so to hello@vowto.co and it will be read by a person rather than a queue. If we cannot resolve it between us, you may be able to take it further through your local Trading Standards service, or through Citizens Advice on 0808 223 1133.
