Your wedding, atits own address
Your wedding website address goes on the invitations and gets typed by every grandparent. It should be yours, and it should be easy to say out loud.
What most wedding websites are
A page on someone else’s site. Free builders give every couple an address under their own brand, a long link with the builder’s name in the middle, because every invitation you send is then an advert for them. It works, but it reads like what it is: a page on someone else’s platform.
What you get here
Every vowto site lives at its own .wedding address, like aliceandtom.wedding, registered for you as part of the one payment. It fits on an invitation, an order of service and a QR code at the venue door, and no one else’s name is anywhere in it. You pick it before you pay, we check it is available, and it is registered and working within minutes.
Who owns it?
You do, in every way that matters, and it is worth asking this of anyone who registers a domain for you. We register it and look after the renewals and technical housekeeping so you never have to. If you ever want it in your own name, or at another registrar, we transfer it free of charge. It is never set to auto-renew against your card, and we write to you before it expires.
After the wedding
Your site stays up for at least a year after the day, so the album and the thank-yous have somewhere to live. The address is registered to at least six months past the wedding, usually longer, and before it expires we write and ask what you would like: keep it, let it go, or take it with you. Plenty of couples keep the domain long after the site.
If you already own a domain
We point it at your vowto site. Pick a .wedding address anyway so your site is live from day one, then reply to your welcome email and we connect yours too. Both addresses work, and your invitations can carry whichever you prefer.
Questions couples ask about the domain
- Whose name is the domain in?
- It is bought for you and it is yours to take. We are listed as the registrant contact while we look after it, and if you ever want it in your own name or at another registrar we move it across for you, at no charge. It is never set to auto-renew, and we write to you before it expires.
- We already own a domain. Can we use it?
- Yes. Pick a .wedding address anyway so the site has somewhere to live from day one, then reply to your welcome email and we point your own domain at it too.
- Can we change the address later?
- Yes, for £89. We register the new one, point your site at it, and leave the old address working, so anything you have already sent out still finds you.
- What happens to it after the wedding?
- The site keeps working for at least a year after the day. The address is registered to at least six months past the wedding, usually longer, and we write to you before it expires so you can keep it for as long as you like.
